Well that's not how us Grawe's work.
Denali needed to get to Idaho ASAP so she called me and asked if the kids and I would drive out with her, and naturally I said yes. It's just not summer until we visit Utah. The catch was we had to be ready to leave Friday morning and it was Wednesday evening. I was nervous because it was such short notice and because Rudy is only 3 months. But we did it and it was fun, plus it was nice to have a few extra days with Auntie Nali before we had to say goodbye for a year and a half. Here are a few pics from the road:
IHOP! So yummy. The restraint was pretty dead so I asked the waitress if we could scoot the next table over closer to us so I could lay Rudy down. He was doing so well in the car I hated the idea of having to hold him down, I wanted him to get his wiggles out.
After we got to Utah Denali spent one last night with us then headed up to Idaho while the kids and I stayed behind and hung with family.
The girls had a blast playing in Auntie Coles pool with their cousins. As you can see I totally forgot bathing suits, haha.
As you can see Rudy really liked the grass.
I think baby Trevyn had mixed feelings about Rudy. I think he was intrigued by him, but not a fan of not being the baby. And definitely not a fan of the fact that his mommy kept holding Rudy and Rudy having a crush on his mommy. (=
When you visit your boy cousins, you get boy toys, like boxing gloves! And funny little cousins, like Ryan!
We got to go to the splash pad with the bestest friends that ever lived!
We got to visit Nani and even though she broke her leg, she was doing great!
We went to Aunties ward camp out and made rockets and even got to shoot them off. I'm dead serious when I say Beas went the highest, it was awesome!!
Every time she went to retrieve it she would dance because she was so happy. It was so funny.
Driving through canyons has always been my favorite thing ever! My girls liked it so much they passed out. Rae was only half asleep but shortly after I took this she was completely out.
We went to Yuba lake while in Utah and on the way up there the girls played with Stephanie and Trevor's bike helmets. They totally looked like bobbly head dolls, it was pretty funny.
One we got to Yuba, I lost my children to sand and boogie boarding. I didn't take pictures of them in the water because ice dropped my phone in water before and I didn't dare test my clumsiness again.
Of coarse Abby came over to play and Phoenix made them a fun raft to float on.
Of coarse we went and visited sweet Lizzi since she's at BYU now. We picked her up and went up to highland to visit auntie Ginger and the cutest twins ever!
As you can see Rudy missed Lizzi so much he blew up on her shirt, haha.
Taylorsville is another must visit area when in Utah. Some more best friends live there. Rae and Loni have been good buddies since they met 3 years ago. My kids are always asking for Tupou's kids and she tells me her boys ask for my girls too. Tupou recently had her first little girl and she is so incredibly stunning! I am so in love with her and now the dilemma is will Rudy and Viola get married or Rae and Loni, or Gage and Bea? Niko is going to be the silly uncle. Haha, j/k.
Loni did give Rae a CTR ring and Rae was very excited about that.
We were able to be out there for Pioneer day and so we went to the Mapleton park and saw the coolest firework show ever! Plus there was a concert going on, so the girls have now been to their first concert. We had a blast even though it ran late and we were super tired.
It's always fun to go to Utah and visit our family and friends. Even when it's totally last minute. But like I said before, it's just not summer unless we've gone to Utah. And this year our trip was a blast, as you can see.
But I'm not going to lie, it feels good to be home. We missed Ki and our everyday family just too much. Rae and Bea went and chased down there goats yesterday and it was pretty cute.
They're definitely ranch girls!
